Pastor Eric Mongomery joined the Calvary Chapel Visalia Staff as our Youth Pastor in April 2007. Previously he was the Youth Pastor for Calvary Chapel Post Falls, Idaho. Eric was born in 1975 in Sacramento, California and moved to Idaho in 1995. He married his wife Gina in 2001 and became the father of Matthew in 2004. Eric loves adrenaline-filled action sports of all kinds.

Eric shares his testimony: "I was born into a Christian household and accepted the Lord Jesus into my heart when I was five.  Although I was saved, Jesus was no more to me than something we did on Sundays.  When I was in high school, I lived a double-sided life; involved in youth group on Wednesdays and Sundays, and leaving God out of my life the rest of the week.  When I was 17, I had gone through some rough times and turned to the world, which offered drugs and alcohol as an escape from my problems.  For six years I spiraled downward until the Lord pulled me out of the life I was living and showed me the light of His marvelous love.  Shortly thereafter my pastor at the time discipled me and took me verse by verse through 1 John.  Through this, I fell in love with the Word and truly started to grow for the first time in my Christian life.  God has continued to grow and bless me ever since."

Eric's favorite book of the Bible is the entire book of 1 John. His favorite verse is John 1:16.
