What is CKBC?
“Calvary Kids’ Bible Club” – Discipleship Ministry for Children
Calvary Kids' Bible Club (CKBC) is a club program for children ages 2 through 4th grades. CKBC meets on Wednesday nights from September through May of each year from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. Our emphasis is on discipleship and growing in the Lord. Our theme verse is 2 Peter 3:18, "…grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."
The children participate in worship, teaching, games, crafts, Bible memory time, and have an opportunity to earn several "merit" patches throughout the year. They receive a workbook to work on their verses throughout the week. The k ids work at their own pace. This enables them to start at any time in the year and not feel like they are behind.
There are also special projects relating to missions, service, and respect that the children do throughout the year to help foster the children's growth in the Lord. We also have several activities where families can come together for a great time.
To better help parents reinforce the lessons and memory verses at home, we have the children work on memorizing for Wednesday nights the same verse they are given the previous Sunday morning. The lesson for Wednesday is different than Sunday's lesson, but tied to the same theme. This way we are simply reinforcing the truths taught on Sunday morning on Wednesday night. This gives us more opportunities to help children memorize the verses, make application of the scriptures to their lives, and assist parents in discipling their children.
Calvary Kids' Bible Club is loads of fun. We hope you can join us on Wednesday nights for an exciting time of learning God's Word and "growing in grace."
A Typical Night
Kids are organized by age groups:
Loveable Lions 4 & 5 year olds
Super Servants 1st & 2nd Grade
Word Warriors 3rd & 4th Grade
* Little Lambs 2 & 3 year olds
The night is broken into four activity filled segments in which the kids rotate throughout the evening, ending up in their Homeroom.
- Crafts/Games (20 Minutes)
- Games are a great way to fellowship and meet new people
- Crafts reinforce the Bible lesson in a fun way
- Bible Lesson (20 Minutes)
- Kids are taught through the Bible and learn valuable lessons in applying scripture to their lives.
- Homeroom (20 Minutes)
- Verse recital
- Discipleship
* Little Lambs
2’s & 3’s will start the evening with special worship and skits to reinforce the evening theme. After the worship time, the kids return to their classes for the remainder of their class session. Classes begin with free play to get the children acclimated to their rooms. The little ones have stories, snacks, songs and activities to fill the evening.
